SolarNode currently uses Spring Framework 4.3 and Spring Security 4.2. In the case of Spring Security 4.2 there are critical security vulnerabilities that are only fixed in newer releases.

Update to Spring Framework 5.3 & Spring Security 5.8 to pick up security fixes while still supporting the Java 8 runtime.
