Currently the AWS SDK JAR is included in the base SolarNode platform. This JAR weighs in at 128MB, however. The only needed core functionality is S3, however, so most of that size is wasted space. The v2 SDK is supposed to support OSGi in the modular JARs, so updating to use these could reduce the size of the base platform.
